Valerie Bertinelli filed for divorce of her husband of 10 years Tom Vitale last Thursday, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

Taking to her Instagram and TikTok accounts, the actress and Food Network presenter opened up about the challenges of going through a public break-up.

She said in the video: “I’m just having a bad day. But you know what? Sometimes we have bad days and then we get over them and then there’s a good day. So I’m looking forward to the good day.”

Valerie and Tom met thanks to the actress’ brother Patrick in 2004 and they got married in January 2011 in Malibu.

As per Celebrity Net Worth, Valerie has a net worth of $20 million as of 2022 which she amassed thanks to her acting career and other incomes.

The 62-year-old presenter, chef and author lives in a Los Angeles property which she purchased in 2002 for a whopping $2.25 million.

The 5,200 square foot residence includes a stunning acre of land, five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a swimming pool.

The One Day at a Time alum’s home boasts a luxurious kitchen, reading room and gorgeous views to the property’s surroundings.

Her career explored

Valerie’s first and best-known step in the acting field was the portrayal of Barbara Cooper on the hit sitcom One Day at a Time. She appeared in 209 episodes that aired between 1975 and 1984.

From there, the actress starred in other television series such as I’ll Take Manhattan, Sydney and Cafe Americain. She also appeared in a number of television movies.

Valerie starred as Melanie Moretti opposite Betty White in the sitcom Hot in Cleveland between 2010 and 2015.

After the end of the series, she landed a presenting gig on Food Network’s Valerie’s Home Cooking for which she won two Daytime Emmy Awards.

Valerie also appeared on several other Food Network shows, including Kids Baking Championship and Food Network Star.

Apart from her successful acting and presenting career, Valerie is a published author of several books.

She released her first book Losing It: And Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time in 2007, followed by Finding It: And Satisfying My Hunger for Life Without Opening the Fridge in 2009.

Valerie published several cookbooks in the next few years. Most recently, she released her 2022 memoir called Enough Already: Learning to Love the Way I Am Today.
