Greene has made headlines most recently for, along with fellow Republicans, heckling President Joe Biden during his State of the Union address. According to Fox News, when Biden accused Republicans of wanting to cut Medicare and Social Security, Greene loudly shouted “Liar!” in response. She would later characterize her outburst while speaking on “Hannity,” saying:

“The reason why I did that is because they have used my image and my name as leading the effort in that when we have not had not one single meeting in the GOP conference talking about cutting Social Security and Medicare. Joe Biden is a liar. I represent the American people and I was honored to be able to call him the liar that he is in the people’s house and not allow him to get away with it.”

For his part, the president seemed to “relish” the exchange, per The New York Times. “I’m glad to see — no, I tell you, I enjoy conversion,” Biden replied to his critics before continuing.
