Timothy Olyphant, popularly known as Sheriff Seth Bullock in the TV series Deadwood is an American actor whose journey in the entertainment industry dates back to 1995 when he started in acting. Whose full name is Timothy David Olyphanest born in Honolulu, Hawaii, of JV Bevan; father and Katherine Olyphant as her mother. His father, in his more active days, was the Vice President of Production at Gallo Winery. He has two siblings; an older brother called Andrew and a younger brother called Mathew.

When he was two years old, his family moved to Modesto, California, where he grew up a lot, but they later separated, given their divorce agreement when Timothy was a teenager. In his family, he comes from an ancestry that includes all English, German, Dutch, Irish, Jewish, Scottish, and Russian descendants.

He was educated with Fred C. of Modesto. Beyer High School and as a child he loved art and drawing but hated acting as he felt embarrassed by it. Timothy also had a fondness for aquatic sports as he swam competitively in different swimming meets throughout his childhood. For his swimming prowess, he was a runner-up in the Medley1986 National 200m Individual Swimming Competition. USC Trojans swim coach Peter Daland came to ask. He was then recruited by the University of Southern California, where he studied fine arts.

In 1990, he graduated and moved to New York to consider other career opportunities as a swim coach at Irvine Novaaquatics and as a commercial artist. He started doing humor and after a while decided to do it with more commitment. After deciding to do comedy, he fell in love with acting and began to consider it as a possible career path. Subsequently, Timothy Olyphant signed up at the William Esper Studio suite in New York, where he began auditioning for roles.

He got his first acting job in 1995 in a WB television pilot at 77 Sunset Strip. Later that same year, he was in the cast of The Monogame which became his first professional Off-Broadway appearance. He continued to work on more films and television series from 1995 to the present day. Not a year has passed that has seen him not work on a movie, play, or TV series.

For his hard work and outstanding talent in the visual entertainment industry, he has been recognized multiple times and has awards to go. They include – 1996 Theater World Award for Outstanding Debut Performance in The Monogamous in 2000, he won the Young Hollywood Award in the Best Bad Boy category for his role in The Go Project. Prior to his marriage to his love interest, Timothy suffered from a good deal of controversy that dragged him down regarding his sexuality. However, since he got married and produced children with his wife, the wrong question died a natural death. Timothy Olyphant is therefore not gay.

He married his college girlfriend, Alexis Knief, aged 23 in a private wedding ceremony attended by only their relatives in July 1991. The public learned he was married when he was seen wearing his wedding ring and the question of who his wife was soon arose.. In no time, his identity was revealed.

According to Timothy, much of his success in his career is due to his wife, who has been very supportive of him. It was also revealed that she helps him rehearse his roles extensively and write his speech for public events.

The couple live in Westwood, Los Angeles and have three children together. Their first child Grace Katherine was born in 1999 and was followed by Henry who was born in 2001 and finally their daughter Vivian was born in 2003.
